ISO 13485 & medical device QMS consulting

A quality system built around the work you do.

Your quality management system should help people make sound decisions, carry out their responsibilities, and consistently deliver safe, effective products. ES³ Solutions helps medical-device organizations build and improve systems aligned with ISO 13485 and applicable regulatory requirements.

Start with the organization. Build the system it needs.

A new product, a growing team, or an expanding market can expose weaknesses in a quality system. Adding another procedure may not resolve them. We start by understanding your products, operations, responsibilities, and intended markets, then determine the processes and controls needed to support them.

When this support is useful

  • You need a first QMS for a medical-device business.
  • An existing system has become difficult to use or maintain.
  • You need to align processes with ISO 13485, FDA QMSR, MDSAP, or EU MDR obligations.
  • Growth, new facilities, or organizational changes have created unclear responsibilities.

Scope of support

Work defined around your needs.

Choose a focused assessment or a broader implementation engagement. The scope and deliverables are agreed before work begins.

01

Assess the current system

Review applicable requirements, existing processes, and representative records to identify meaningful gaps and implementation priorities.

02

Develop usable processes

Create or revise quality manuals, procedures, forms, and records around how work is performed, with clear responsibilities and proportionate controls.

03

Put the system into practice

Support process owners, role-based training, implementation planning, and the records needed to demonstrate that the system operates.

04

Evaluate and improve

Review performance, management-review inputs, and recurring issues to identify where the system needs adjustment.

Questions before you begin

Practical answers. A clearer starting point.

These answers provide general context. The right approach depends on your products, operations, and applicable requirements.

How long does it take to implement an ISO 13485 quality system?

There is no useful single timeline for every organization. A focused update to an operating system differs substantially from building one from the beginning. The plan should account for documentation, training, implementation, generation of operating records, internal audit, management review, and any certification-body scheduling. ES³ Solutions develops the schedule after reviewing the starting point and scope.

Can we use templates to build our QMS?

Templates can provide a starting structure. They still need to reflect your actual processes, products, responsibilities, and regulatory obligations. A document set alone does not demonstrate an implemented or effective system. We can help evaluate existing templates and adapt what is useful.

What is included in a QMS gap assessment?

The agreed assessment can include applicable requirements, process documentation, representative operating records, interviews, and implementation evidence. The output identifies gaps, their significance, and recommended next steps. Sampling and boundaries are defined so the report is clear about what was assessed.

How much does ISO 13485 consulting cost?

Cost depends on the scope, number of sites, complexity of operations, condition of existing records, and level of implementation support. A focused assessment can help define the work before a larger project is proposed. Consulting fees and certification-body audit fees are separate.

Does ES³ Solutions issue ISO 13485 certificates?

No. ES³ Solutions provides consulting, implementation, and readiness support. Certification decisions are made by the certification body. We help your organization prepare and address identified gaps without promising a certification outcome.

Let’s define the practical next step.

Tell us what you need to accomplish, where the difficulty sits, and any timing constraints. We can discuss the support that fits your organization.

Planning the engagement

A clear scope. Realistic priorities.

The scope depends on your device portfolio, design and manufacturing responsibilities, locations, target markets, and existing QMS maturity. We agree the deliverables and the work your team will own before implementation begins.

You work directly with the experienced consultant responsible for understanding the issue and delivering the agreed work.

What you can expect

  • A defined QMS scope and prioritized gap assessment
  • An implementation plan with responsibilities and dependencies
  • Agreed procedures, forms, and supporting records
  • Training and process-owner implementation support
  • A practical plan for maintaining and evaluating the system

How the work progresses

From understanding to effective action.
